Saturday, September 3, the descendants of Jacob and Lucinda Tipton met in the grove at the Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, near the old Tipton homestead, close to Glen Savage for their first annual reunion. The day was one long to be remembered by all who were in attendance, the time being enjoyably passed in social intercourse and reminiscences, while at the noon hour a sumptous dinner was enjoyed.

In the forenoon Prof. J. J. Tipton of Cumberland was chosen chairman for the day and responded with the first address, while his father, Noah Tipton, gave a very complete history of the forefathers of the Tipton clan, and James Cook also gave a very interesting address.

After dinner a permanent organization was formed by the election of the following officers:
President – James Tipton of Fairhope
Treasurer – John W. Tipton of Berlin
Secretary – H. F. Heffley of Berlin

The remainder of the afternoon was spent in a social way and all returned to their respective homes highly delighted with the first reunion and carrying with them fond anticipations for a joyous gathering a year hence.—Berline Record
