JoLynn Ragen Joacim

Registered surname(s):
Britton,
Major,
Morgan,
Tregea
on June 7, 2005

Comments: I have been working on my geneology for several years now and have completed the Tregea line as I know it.
I am struggling with the Britton/Major side. They lived in Schuykill County but moved to Berks Co. years later.
The Major side has some history. My GGreat Uncle, George Major was chief burgess in Mahony City and was murdered by the Molly’s. My Great Great Grandfather was his brother Jesse. Also, I am told on the Tregea side that my Grandfather Lewis Tregea was a chemsit who worked in the old paper mill. He was credited (at least I was told by my family) for developing the formula that Hershey used for the color on the candy wrapper. I have also been told that my Great Grandmother Martha Morgan was related to Sarah Morgan, who married Daniel Boone. I am hoping I can prove some of this.

Richard and Carolyn Johnson

Registered surname(s):
Thomas
on October 8, 2006

Comments: I am researching the Jones O. Thomas family who lived in Berks Co, PA in the 1860’s at least. His wife was Elizabeth (maiden name may have been Vivin). They had at least 1 child by the 1880 census: Florence (or Florene) who was 11 years old. I believe there may have been another girl and a boy. He was a grocer; probably born 1845. The family is listed as living in Reading.
