on May 23, 2007Comments: I am researching the family of Heinrich ‘Henry” SCHAUB b. 30 Jul 1765 in SWT; married 22 Sep 1794 SWT to Barbara KESTENHOLZ b. 8 Jun 1760 SWT. They came to America in Aug 1804 on the ship, Rebecca into Port of Philadelphia. In 1804 their children are: Hans Jacob b 7 Dec 1795 SWT; Heinrich ? b. 18 Apr 1797 SWT (he may dec’d.); Elisabeth b. 1 Apr 1800 SWT and Adam b. 31 Jul 1802 SWT. The first census I can confirm on Henry is 1820 Berks Co PA Amity Tp. (Heritage Quest, M33 roll 99, p.141]; however this 1820 census reflects three additional children, a male 10-16 yrs.; a female 10-16 yrs and a female under 10. The whereabouts of Adam SCHAUB. Can anyone help me complete this family?
Jacob SCHAUB (1795) married Maria WEIS on 25 Feb 1823 as confirmed on your marriage registry. It is said Maria died shortly after the birth of a son, Solomon on 5 Jun 1823, and buried in Amityville. Would like to confirm her death date and burial and the names of her parents.

on July 4, 2006Comments: Henrich FREYMAN married the widow Anna Catharine GESELL on 24 Sep 1752 in “Heidelberg” by Rev. Casper Stover. Obtained a Warrant 24 Oct 1754, for a tract of land situated in Bern Twp., later Upper Bern Twp. and now Centre Twp., Berks County, with the Survey # C59 180 returned the 22 day of February 1760. Patent #H29 – 328, was issued 22 Mar 1831 to Henry MARX, an Administrator of the Estate of Casper FREEMAN, only son of Henrich and Anna Catharine. Casper FREEMAN married Christina SCHMIDT, d/o Adam & Anna Maria (SCHAUER) SCHMIDT, and they had 12 children, all of which lived to maturity and married. Their son George married 18 Aug 1805 to Elizabeth GERHART, d/o John & Maria GERHART, and settled in Cumru Twp, in the area that has become known as Freemansville, first appearing there on the 1810 Census.
Henrich FREYMAN had a sister, Maria Elizabetha, who was the second wife of Johan Christian BERGER of Bern Twp. I am looking for information on the origins of Henrich & his sister Maria Elizabetha FREYMAN. Also looking for parents of the widow GESELL to know her maiden name. She was the widow of Leonard GESELL who owned 149 Acres in N. Heidelberg Twp., Lancaster, later Berks, County. He must have died before Berks County was formed.
I am descended from George & Elizabeth (GERHART) FREEMAN, as are all of the Freemansville Freemans. I have their line extensively researched but would like to add descendents that I haven’t documented plus those for George FREEMAN’s siblings, including: Catharine who married Jacob LENGEL; John who married first to Elizabeth HEHN and after her early death, remarried to Sarah FEHR and moved to Summit Station, Schuylkill Co. abt. 1820; Elizabeth who married Henry MARX; Susan who married Henry LAMB; Adam who married Maria Ann SCHUMAN; Mericha (or Maria) who married Benjamin WERTZ; Peter who married Dina HOLLENBACH; Mary Magdelena who married Thomas W. BROOKS; Margaret who married an UMBEHOCKER; Sarah who married Henry MARX after her sister Elizabeth died and lastly, Jacob who married first to Elizabeth GENGER and second to Elizabeth HUY.
