Comments: I am researching Zettlemayer and all of it’s derivative, such as Sedlmyer, Settlemayer, Zettelmoyer, etc and they are in both Berks and Schuylkill Counties. I am also researching Waltz, but I think they may be in Schuylkill County, but some of the names in the counties overlap, so there are probably some in Berks County as well. Then there is the brief history of Barretts passing thru Berks and Schuylkill Counties when one of them married a Settlemayer.

Breyfogle, the son of Merle Edward Breyfogle, son of William Alexander who was the son of William Milton Breyfogle and so on back to Johann Petar Breyvogel who traveled to this country from the Palatine area of Germany in 1744 and settled in Berks County, PA. The Breyfogles remained in Pennsylvania until the middle 1800s and then started a westward movement. Comments: My Reitenauer family seemed to have emigrated the earliest, though the Bopps came to Berks by 1739. The Reitenauers, Stauffers and perhaps the Bobbs, all seemed to be from Switzerland originally, going to Alsace or the Palatinate region before coming to Berks County.
