Claudia Garner

Registered surname(s):
Bersch,
Bush,
Nickels
on December 10, 2004

Comments: I know my Great Grandparents, John Nickels and his wife, Margaret Bush, lived in Fleetwood, Berks County in the 1930 census. I have a newspaper article most likely from the WWII time mentioning his work at the mattress factory in Fleetwood. I have no idea what happened to them and am interested in anything I can learn. Thank You.

1. Mr. HAGY. I don’t know his first name…that….is what I would like to find out. He married my ancestor, Elizabeth Warner During sometime after 1880. He supposedly died before 1920 in Berks County. Hagy may be HAAGY or other spellings.

on June 25, 2007

Comments: I am researching the GEIBEL family of Spring Township, Berks Co., PA, with related marriages to BAUM, SPECHT, MCCOLM and SIEFFERMAN families. I published a GEIBEL Families Book in 2000 of the ancestors and descendants of Johannes “John” (The Immigrant) Geibel (1814 Limburg, Hessen Prov., Germany – ca. 1858 Spring Township, Berks Co., PA) who was married to Johanna “Hannah” Riebecca SIEFFERMAN (c. 1807 Leonberg, Germany – 1912 Sinking Spring, Berks Co., PA). Johanna (Siefferman) Geibel later married John George SPECHT (1827 Baden, Germany – 1895 Spring Township, Berks Co., PA). John and Hannah Geibel had three children: Frederick; William Joseph S.; and Caroline Geibel. John and Hannah (Geibel) Specht had two children: Charles George Specht; and John Paul Specht. Paul Levi SPECHT, the famous Penn. musician, is of this family. I continue to research the GEIBEL, SIEFFERMAN and SPECHT families, and related Pennsylvania families. Please contact me if you have information or desire information on these families.

Lauren Gilbert

Registered surname(s):
Deem,
Diehl,
Diehm
on February 23, 2005

Comments: I am researching John Deem: he appears to have been born Johann (or Johannes) Nicholas DEEM or Diehm. I have a birth date 21 Nov 1756 in Tulpehocken, Berks Co PA, was baptized 28 Nov 1756 in Lancaster, Lancaster Co, PA and supposedly attended the Trinity Tulpehocken Reformed Church and the Evangelical Reformed Church School. His father appears to be Johannes Adam Diehm (original immigrant, born about 1731 in Germany) and his mother Anna Christina Bruenig. He married Mary Magdalena Diehl (or Dils) about 1778, possibly in Berks Co. Unfortunately, I have turned up nothing in other sources, and was wondering if you could suggest a direction.
