Comments: My earliest verified Leidecker ancestor is Johannes Leidecker,a miller by trade who died in Greenwich Township in 1825. Johannes also owned property in Albany Township Berks County and Lynn Township Lehigh County. His wife was Maria Bachman the daughter of Lorentz Bachman. A few of the other surnames in connection to the Leideckers are Kistler, Bachman, Braucher and Billig. There are connections to many of the other established Berks County surnames.

Comments: I am researching Johann Peter Muench who came from Germany on the ship Samuel in 1737 with his wife, Barbara Oster, and some children. Settled in Berks County. I am researching his descendants, particularly Henry, who was born 1740 and married Catherine Rieth (Ried) Dec 1765. Also, searching for information on Henry’s son, Henry, who is said to have been born in Schaefferstown in 1773. He later went to Virginia to live.
They changed their name to Minnich/Minnick.

Comments: Seeking parents/other siblings of Snyder, Anna Barbara b. ca. 1788; Peter b. ca. 1790; Mary b. ca. 1793. Anna Barbara m. Thomas Lee, b. Ireland. Peter and Mary Snyder did not marry, at 1850 census all except Thomas living in same household with Anna’s children Henry and Sarah in Blockley Township, Philadelphia. Anna Barbara, Peter & Mary buried Old Cathedral Cemetery, Philadelphia. Nothing more known about Thomas, but he may be the Thomas Lee living 1830 Maidencreek.

Comments: I am a Stauffer by birth. I have traced with great confidence, my roots to Reuben Stauffer of Berks County, Colebrookdale, PA. He was born around 1815 or 1817 and died either 1869 or 1870 I have conflicting info on that. I need to confirm who his parents are and keep going back as far as possible. He was married to Catherine or Catharine Musselman or Mussleman and had about 10 children. I know that 2, Oliver and Johnathon are buried at Old Mennonite Cemetary in Bally, PA.

Comments: I am especially interested in Philip Kaup who came to Pennsylvania on the ship Christian (Captained by Thomas Brady), 13 Sep 1749. He married Elizabeth Borneman, date unknown as no record has been found, two children: Daniel (my ancestor) and Jacob; she married 2nd David Reis, 3 children. Philip died intestate and his estate probated 14 Feb 1776. Elizabeth (his wife)ministrex of the estate, before it was settled she had married David, and was listed as Elizabeth Reis in the final paperwork. In 1789 the children of Philip and Elizabeth petitoned the court for appointment of a guardian, as Elizabeth was still alive at the death of David Reis (in 1808) they must not have gptten along with the stepfather. Phillip is listed in the PA Archives 3rd series in Oley Township in 1767 & 1768 as a single man, and in 1774 & 1776 with land. The book The BORNEMAN FAMILY IN AMERICA lists Elizabeth as the daughter of Daniel Borneman, and states she married first a Daniel Kaup and 2nd Daniel Reis. Other members who are researching this line felt that Elizabeth had married Johan Daniel Kaup, who came to Pennsylvania on the ship Minerva in 1768, and 2nd to Daniel Reis. Other than Rupp’s book on passenger lists of Germans, I have not found Johann Daniel Kaup connected to Elizabeth, and the prodate record of Philip, which lists her as Kaup and Reis, and lists the two children lends credit to Phillip as being the first of my line in Pennsylvania (and America). I have very little info on Phillip before his death, but much more on David and Elizabeth Reis, and the Kaup children after the death. Phillip may have been of advance age when he and Elizabeth were married, and died while the children were quite young. My ancestor Daniel married into the Baum family, and moved to Missouri after 1808. The Kaups later went to Kansas, Oklahoma, Arizona Territory and eventually to California.

Comments: My Great Great Great Grandfather Jacob Coller/Collier (b.1805) married a Lydia Stein (b. 2-Feb-1804) in Berks Co., PA according to her obituary. Prior to moving to Ohio, Jacob and Lydia had at least five children born to them in Pennsylvania. Joseph (b.1828), John (b.1832), Elizabeth (b.1834), Jacob (b.1835) and Caroline (b.1836). It is possible that there were two more children born to Jacob and Lydia in Pennsylvania that did not survive long enough to be listed on any Censuses. Jacob and Lydia had 14 children in all.

Comments: I am particularly looking for information about Christian Schlegel born in Richmond Township 25 March 1765, baptized in the Christ Church of Dryville, Rockland Township 21 April 1765. He was found in the 1790 census in Ruscombmanor Twp with a wife and two infant sons. I have not been able to find a record of his marriage or the birth of his sons.

Comments: I am interested in the FETHERLING family. I know that Jacob Fetherling was born in Washington county PA in 1805, and his father possibly being in the Revolutionary War. I do know that Jacob’s father was from Holland and would like to find when he entered the US and from what city/township in Holland.
