Last will and testament of Thomas Herron (1819-1898)
I Thomas Herron of the Township of East Franklin County of Armstrong and
state of Pennsylvania, being of sound mind, memory and understanding, do make
and publish this, my last Will and Testament, hereby revoking and making void
all former Wills by me at anytime heretofore made. In manner and form
following. (That is to say)That I give and devise unto my son James the farm I now reside on in manner
following. That is to say.He [is] to pay my funeral expenses and all debts which I justly owe as soon
after my death as can be done conveniently.I give and bequeath unto my daughter Eliza Rumbaugh the sum of one hundred
dollars to be paid to her one year after my death, and I also give devise and
bequeath unto my daughter Emaline Kerr one hundred dollars to be paid to her
three years after my death, and I also give and devise and bequeath unto my
daughter Lora R(iap?) one hundred dollars to be paid to her four years after
my death, and I also give devise and bequeath unto my grandson Eddy Herron
Twenty five dollars, and I also give devise and bequeath unto my granddaughter
Maud McCullough twenty five dollars when these two grandchildren arrive at the
age of twenty one years. And I also direct that my personal property be
praised and sold divided equally among my son and four daughters.I direct that all the devises and requests made to my heirs and the
mentioned legacies I charge upon the farm devised to my son James and direct
that they remain a lien upon said farm until paid.I do hereby make constitute and appoint James Herron my son and John
Ambrose to be Executors of this my last Will and testament and do declare this
to be my last will and Testament written and contained on this one sheet of
paper.In witness Whereof, I Thomas Herron the —– above named have hereunto
subscribed my name and affixed my seal the sixteenth day of May in the year of
our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety eight.s/Thomas Herron (sealed)
Signed sealed published and declared by the above named Thomas Herron as
and for his last will and Testament, in the presence of us, who have hereunto
subscribed our names at his request as witnesses thereto, in the presence of
the said testator and of each other.s/Frank Ambrose

Be it known that on the tenth day of November AD 1898 before me I T.
Campbell registrar of Wills __ in and for the county aforesaid came Frank
Ambrose and Simon Cloak the subscribers witnesses to the foregoing instrument
of writing, purporting to be the last Will and Testament of Thomas Herron
deceased, and on their solemn oath did depose and say that they were present
and did see and hear Thomas Herron the testator therein named sign seal
publish and declare the same as and for his last Will and Testament and at the
time of so doing he was of sound mind and memory to the best of their
knowledge and belief.s/Simon Cloak

Now Nov. 10, AD 1898 the testimony of the above named witnesses being
sufficient. I do hereby admit the foregoing Will to Probate and order the same
