Revolutionary War Veterans
John Range ~ 5 April 1778 commissioned lieutenant 5th Company, 4th Battalion, York County, Pennsylvania. Received land grant for service of 258 acres from Tubbs Run to Tionesta Creek. (Present day Tionesta) It is not believed he served in the French and Indian Wars as stated in the History of Forest County, by Ron Childs, but instead that was his uncle John Range.
Mark Noble ~ Served under Captain James Noble
Isaac Connelly ~ Born 1747 died 4 July 1823, buried Stewart Run Cemetery
James Magee ~ Private in the Continental Line Pennsylvania Volunteers, was in the Battle of Long Island 27 August 1776
Eli Holeman ~ Was in the battles of Brandywine and Germantown
Henry Gates ~ Served in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania regiment.
