Rea Family Cemetery, Barnett Township, Forest County, Pennsylvania

Rea Family Cemetery
Barnett Township

Local legend tells us that three members of a Rea family are buried in the woods
off of Blood Road not to far from the Blue Ridge Cemetery.
Eugene F. Throop in his book Forest County, Pennsylvania Cemetery
Inscriptions
relates the legend as well.

The
story says that the individuals had died of a contagious disease and so they
were buried away from others.

There was a George Rea family living in the area from 1900 – 1930. George and
his wife Rossetta are buried in the Clarington Cemetery. The three known
children lived into adulthood. George’s mother Catherine was living with them,
it is unknown where she is buried. His father Patterson is suppose to be buried
in the Fisher Presbyterian Cemetery in Clarion County.  I found no other
published history of this family showing any other children born to the family.
