March 20, 1865 On March 20, 1865 he was drafted into "C" Co. PA 98th Infantry at Chambersburg, aged 21.  He was Mustered Out on June 29, 1865 at Washington, DC..

He applied for a pension July 2, 1891, Application No. 1,035,760, Certificate No. 811,770.  He died October 23, 1909.  His widow applied for a pension, Application No. 931,036, Certificate No. 717,248.

There are no muster roll records for Company E Earlier he served as a Private in Hubbell's Independent Company, of Pa. Drafted Militia Infantry (9-months, 1862-63).  The unit was organized at Philadelphia November 14, 1862 and mustered out August 15, 1863.

He applied for a pension May 8, 1880, Application No. 361,716, Certificate No. 341,634.  Died July 1, 1928, Hammond, Ind.
