On March 20, 1865 he was drafted into "C" Co. PA 98th Infantry at Chambersburg, aged 21.  He was Mustered Out on June 29, 1865 at Washington, DC..

Applied for a pension July 2, 1891, Application No. 1,035,760, Certificate No. 811,770.  He died October 23, 1909.  His widow applied for a pension, Application No. 931,036, Certificate No. 717,248.
