The congregation secured a warrant for 50 acres of land.

Philadelphia, April 25, 1744

Received of George STEININGER and John LICHTENWALNER, two pounds, ten shillings in part consideration for fifty acres to be surveyed to them at Macungie in the county of Bucks for the use of a burial ground for the Lutheran congregation there.

Received for honorable proprietors, LAYNFORD LARDNER, Res. Gen.

Second payment made - May 27, 1755

Third and final payment made June 6, 1810

First church erected of logs and used by both the Lutherans and Reformed until 1752 when the Reformed built their own church.

A 135 feet high steeple erected.

1734 - Rev. John Casper Stoever - Pastoral Acts. - It was Rev. Stoever's practice to go from settlement to settlement to preach and to baptize children and perform marriages. He was ordained on April 8, 1733 although he preached and performed minstrels before this.

 1736 - Rev. Mr. Schmidt - Supply - not a regular preacher - quack doctor and dentist from Falckners Swamp.

 1738 - Rev. Mr. Streiter - Occasional Supply - un-ordained - a schoolmaster

 1739 - 1749/50 - Rev. John J. Birckenstock - first regular pastor - he arrived with Lorentz GUTH [one of the founders of Jordan Church, at Philadelphia] . Rev. Birckenstock also served Williams Twp. settlers which became known as Morgan Hill.

 Oct. 1750 - 1752 - no record of a pastor - possibly Philip Henry Rapp.

1752 - 1767 - Rev. Jacob Schertlein - began his ministry in Germany in 1733 but was dismissed after serving 15 years. He arrived in this country Sept. 27, 1752. Bought land in Macungie and became pastor of Macungie and Jordan. He also served Heidelberg 1753 -1762, Weissenberg 1754, Zionsville 1758 - 1761

 1769 - 1772/73 - Rev. John George Jung - sent from London - in 1769 Jung was serving four congregations and was asked to supply Weissenberg. Rev. Jung resigned, congregation was without a regular preacher until 1775.
