KENDERES posted by Jean Schmidt on Friday, June 2, 2000

I would appreciate any help I can get regarding the above name. My grandfather,JANOS KENDERES, came to this country on April 18, 1902 on the S.S.Koln out of Bremen. He is listed on the passenger manifest as going to his brother, GYORGY KENDERES, in Middletown, PA. I didn't think finding Gyorgy would be difficult, but on the location database, I find there are 20 listings for Middletown, PA. I have no idea where to begin, except for the fact that my g'father, on the 1910 census, lived in Leisenring #3, (Fayette Co.) and died there in 1948. I can find no record of Gyorgy (George) KENDERES in Fayette Co. Can anyone help? Thanks so much. jean schmidt nandj@uswest.net

COCHRAN, SOUSLEY posted by Maryanne MIlls on Saturday, June 3, 2000

In 1790, there is a David Sousley in Mount Pleasant Township, Westmoreland County. Is this the David Sousley who served in the Pennsylvania Regiment with John Finley and who later moved to the Blue Licks area of Fleming County, Kentucky?
David may be named George David Sousley since he also had a son of this name. The son was born about 1789 in Pennsylvania. He married Isabella Cochran, the daughter of Robert Cochran. This line of Cochrans comes from Chester County, Pennsylvania.
The 1800 Berks County, Pennsylvania census lists a George Sousley with 2 sons under age 10, and 3 daughters under age 10.
Does anyone have information about David Sousley or George Sousley or George David Sousley? I am also researching the Cochrans.

I am searching for any information on the parents of Louis Crow and the grandparents of Lewis Crow. I have been lead to believe that Louis' parents possibly are William and Sarah (Ward) Crow. I have pictures of family from the late 1800's from Mount Pleasant and West Newton, Pa.. Some of these pictures could be of my grandmothers' family the Cooks'. One of the pictures is of Joe and Rebecca with no last name. My gfather Louis Crow moved to Illinois in the late 1800's and married my gmother in the early 1900's in southern Ill.. He was killed a few months after marriage. He is buried in southern Illinois. If anyone can help me, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you....
