Enrolled May 5, 1861 at Philadelphia at age 20; Height: 5' 6.5", Hair: Dark, Complexion: Common, Eyes: Blue; Occupation: Stone Cutter; Residence:Philadelphia.  Re-enlisted December 29, 1863, at Washington, D.C.  

Heserved first in Company F, 27th Pennsylvania Volunteers and promoted to Corporal,May 1, 1863, and transferred to the 73d September 24, 1864.  He wasmustered out with the Company July 14, 1865 at Alexandria, Va.
