Looking for some help in identifying people and places in some photos from my grandfathers scrapbook. The Dennis family lived in New Providence in the 1860-1880 time frame. Some moved to Chester County, others farther away.

My GR-Grandfather Edwin Thomas was born in Lancaster county on Feb 1, 1820. His parents moved to Harrison County Ohio in 1834 when Edwin was 14 yrs old. He was married in Ohio to Sarah Anne Turney and then moved to Whitside County Il abt 1860. Could anyone tell me how I could find out who his parents where. Any help would be greatly appreciated. BURKEY - Honus (John) Burkey arrived from Germany in Lancaster County in 1844 with wife Clara Bloomingsteel. Both buried at Ranck's Church. I am interested in contact with descendents of their son John B. Burkey buried St John's Methodist, Soudersburg.
Honus and Clara had several children, one of which was Elizabeth Burkey who married William Hamer Johnson, the later two my maternal great-grandparents. They moved to Philadelphia by retired to the Gap area and are buried at the Methodist Church in Atglen.
Another child of Honus/Clara, Laban Burkey, married Elizabeth Johnson, sister of Wm Hamer Johnson. In other words, Laban Burkey and Wm Johnson married each other's sisters.

Have copy of the will of Richard Ashmore,dated in 1747 in Lacaster Co. Pa. Names his wife Margery, who I think could have been Margery Lindley, dau of James and Elenor Lindley from Ireland,they were Quakers. Richard names a step son Joshua, and all my children. All children b after 1735. Margery was name Adm of will. Would she have to go to orphan court to get coutody of minor children before she could settle estate? Step son Joshua was b in 1735, he was to recieve and equal share of the estate. Are there any Orphan Court records for this time frame?? Any help would be appreciated. gcapope@usit.net

I would like to know more about my distant relative Eugen Josef Rauck (born 24.12.1825 in Fulda, emigrated on board of the ship Marianne, arrived 3.Oct 1851 Baltimore). He was said to have contracted "Nervenfieber" and subsequently went to jail in Lancaster/Pennsylvania. He had to be supported by his maternal grandfather who lived in Fulda.

I am trying to find information on Felix HOOVER. He was born b abt 1752 in LAncaster Co., PA and d 10 June 1828. Washington Twp, Montgomery Co. Ohio. Felix was a Revolutionary War Veteran who is mentioned as a private soldier of Capt. James Ross company in "History of Lancaster Co PA with Biographical Sketches of Many of the Pioneers and Prominent Men" by Franklin Ellis and Samuel Evans, published in Philadelphia by Everts and Peck 1883 at page 45. This information is also repeated in "Pennsylvania Archives" 5th Series, Vol 2., p. 652.
My other research makes me wonder if Felix was one of the Huber family, but I couldn't find any information on him at the Pennsylvania Historical society. I know that Hoover and Huber were fairly interchangable in 18th Century Lancaster Co.

Believe John Frederick came to the States with one or two brothers, perhaps Phillip being one of them. John Frederick and Adaline went to Louisa Co., Iowa about 1848 where he died in April 1850. I am looking for further information concerning Felix HOOVER/HUBER born about 1752 in Lancaster County. I now know that his parents were Felix HUBER and Maria X. The elder Felix died sometime before the revolution.
Young Felix fought in the revolution and is mentioned in Ellis's Lancaster County history as serving in Captain James Ross's Company. There are numerous references to his service in the military records in the national archives as well as the Pennsylvania archives. Felix was with Washington at Valley Forge, and is a recognized ancestor in the Descendents of Washington's Army at Valley Forge.
I would like to connect with other descendants of this branch of the Hoover-Huber family or anyone who knows about this lineage. Thank you.

I believe that Felix Huber arrived in Philadelphia on the Jamica Gallery from Rotterdam, 7 Feb 1738/1739. Felix Huber resided in Manheim Township, Lancaster Co. in 1756 according to tax records. I do not know Felix Hubers birth or death dates. I know he married a woman named Maria. Felix and Maria had the following children according to records from Trinity Lutheran Church in Lancaster, PA: Anna Barbara Huber, baptized 4 Oct 1747 - 3 weeks old.
Maria Huber, born 27 Oct 27, 1749, baptized 8 Nov 1749.
Johann Jurgen Huber, born 7 Mar 1753 and baptized 18 Mar 1753.
From records at First Reformed Church in Lancaster, PA: Cath. Huber, baptized 22 Feb 1746.
Tobias Huber, born 25 Oct 1750 and baptized 4 Nov 1750.
Mary Cath. Huber, born 17 Oct 1756 and baptized 31 Oct 1756.
I am a descendant of their son Felix Hoover b abt 1752 PA d 10 June 1828 Washington Twp, Montgomery Co. Ohio buried Sugar Creek Cem, Centerville, Ohio. Rev War Veteran. Felix Junior is mentioned in the History of Lancaster Co PA with "Biographical Sketches of Many of the Pioneers and Prominent Men" by Franklin Ellis and Samuel Evans, published in Philadelphia by Everts and Peck 1883 page 45 Felix Hoover is listed as joining Capt. James Ross's Company in March 4, 1777. This information is also contained in PA Archives 5th Series. Vol. 2 ,p. 658.
I would like to get in contact with other people researching this family or who might be able to help locate information on Felix Elder and his wife Maria.

Johannes Spade arrived on the ship "Two Brothers" in 1753. Prior to the American Revolution and until 1782 he was taxed in Philadelphia. His son John Spade married Mary Farnsworth.
