Joseph Burkhardt/Burkhart spent his days in Lancaster Co., Pa., and after his death, his wife moved to Cambria Co., Pa., to spend her days with her children. Found in Genealogical Gleanings from The Lancaster Journal, Lancaster County, PA compile by Rita Schive Mowrer, the following: 3 Aug 1821 - "Died suddenly on the 22d ult. at the house of Peter Barlow, in Donegal Twp. James CUNNINGHAM, about 70 years of age. He was interred in Simon ECKENROTHS burial ground." Does anyone know where this burial ground is and if so who is buried there other than James Cunningham? I am interested in the ECKENRODE/ECKENROTH family.

He was married to Emily PRICE on July 20,1865 in Farmersville, Mo. I have hit a wall trying to locate Elias's parents, I belive his father might be a Samuel Kile, who lived in Lancaster co. Pa., he has a son who would be the right age of Elias listede in the 1840 census for this county on Pg. 145. If you might have any information concerning Elias or his parents I would be greatful for your help. On the death certificate his nationality is listed as Ireland if this helps. thank you.

According to LDS (Ancestral File, IGI, AFN:31B4-38), Joseph "Josiah" Davis was born in Lancaster Co., PA and his father is Thomas DAVIES (note spelling). Thomas Davies b. ~1708, Wales, married Mary Unknown. Joseph "Josiah" Davis m. Sophia JACKSON, (great Aunt of Stonewall Jackson). I wonder if LDS is correct due to: (1) age of Thomas at birth of Joseph, (2) next closest sibling born 17 years earlier, and (3) difference in Davis vs. Davies. Any help would be much appreciated. After the Civil War, where Reubin REINHOLD served as a Major, he "acted in plays, does art, music, sings and dances." This was in the late 1860's and 70's or later. He did this in the Fall, Winter and Spring in Philadelphia. His father Jessie built the Reinholds Hotel in Reinholds, Lancaster county where "During summer Jesse had his house open to Philadelphians as a resort for recreation." RAU- Supposedly 3 Rau brothers came through the port of Philadelphia from Germany about mid 1700's. My father said England. At Lancaster Co., they split up. One brother, Andreas, may have had started his family prior to moving to Emmittsburg, Frederick Co., MD. He was Naturalized in 1761 in MD. He had at least 3 sons & sold each part of his plantation in 1785 in MD. That same year Andreas bought lot #2 in newly founded Emmittsburg. Andreas's brothers names are unknown. Would greatly appreciate any help on Andreas Rau. Thanks.

I am trying to obtain information on a SCOTT family (from Ulster) who settled in the Peach Bottom area of Lancaster/York Co., PA late 17th or early 18th century. I am descended from Samuel Scott, Sr. allegedly born in Peach Bottom ca. 1730. married Elizabeth ? in PA. They later moved to Washington Co., VA. in the 1770s.

I am looking for information on the AMES family. Particularly my great grandfather, Isaac AMES. Isaac was born Nov. 25, 1865 but where? Who were his parents & siblings. Know he was living in Lancaster county when he married my great grandmother, Mary WARFEL;daughter of Adam & Elizabeth (FRY) WARFEL of Conestoga Twp. Isaac & Mary lived in Columbia, Pa. after their marriage which I believe took place before 1885 since that is the year I have for the birth of their first child. They had 13 children: Annie who married James B. MUMAW, Elizabeth (called Liz), Christian, Clara, Sarah, Bertha who married Wm. ASHBY, Emily, Edna who married Wm. DUNCAN, Cyrus, Isaac (called Ike), Arthur, Mary & Stella. Some time after 1910 Isaac & Mary moved to NJ where Isaac died in 1935. If anyone out there has any information on this family please let me know. Thanks......

Looking for the origins of the Christian MEYER/MYER family. Christian's will abstract names no wife, so she must have predeceased him. The children are Jacob, Magdalena, b. 1766 and m. to Samuel GRAYBILL, John, Christian Jr., Anna, Maria, Elizabeth and Barbara. The family lived in Earl Twp.
