NESBITT, WILLIAM, b. 4 Nov., 1809. Family Bible says in Mifflintown, Lancaster Co. (?) A History says that he grew up in Uniontown, PA (Daughin Co.?) Believe his parents were WILLIAM NESBITT, b. 1777 and SARAH METTLIN or METTLEN, b. 1781 or 1789. If so, siblings were Samuel G., Elizabeth, James L., Martha, and possibly Washington N. The second William's son was SAMUEL ALEXANDER NESBITT, b. 27 August, 1836, probably Mifflintown. Older William died in 1828 and widow Sarah and children William, Henry W., John B., Samuel Alex, Margaret Eleanor, and Sarah, moved to Decatur, Macon Co., IL around 1836. Samuel's son, Willey Alexander Nesbitt, (b. 6 March, 1868 in Decatur, IL) was my grandfather. I have info re the years in IL and would like to find out where William and Sarah were born. Son William (b. 1809) married ELIZABETH DOYLE. William's son, SAMUEL NESBITT (b. 1836) married ELIZABETH WILLEY, b. Zanesville, Ohio, about 1838.
