WHITSITT (WHITSETT, WHITESIDE) AND TUTTLE. My fourth great grandfather was Samuel Whitsitt, an immigrant from Londonderry, Northern Ireland. He was born about 1746 and was married to Margaret (Maggie) Tuttle. We do not have the date or location of the marriage but it occurred about 1766. Samuel died in Montgomery County, Kentucky in 1815, but he and Maggie had 10 children, several of which were born in Pennsylvania including: William (6 May 1767), John (about 1768), James (about 1774), Joseph (about 1774), and Ralph (about 1778). One story indicates that Samuel was a sheriff in Lancaster but we have no evidence of this. He served in the Revolutionary War as the family was granted land in Indiana for this service. I am most interested in contacting anyone with information and am quite willing to share what I have on the descendents of Samuel Whitsitt.

MAURER/MOWRER/MOURER/MOWRY/PETRY/BAR/BAER/BARE/ERNI/KLINGENSCMIDT. I have been researching Maurers of the 1700s in Pa., Germany, Alsace, Switzerland, etc. for 17 years. My ancestor, Christian Maurer, was born about 1774-75 in Berks or Lancaster Co., Pa., probably, moving to Northumberland Co., Pa. about 1794-96, then to what is now Snyder Co., Pa. in 1800, then 1820-27 to Wayne Co., Ohio, then about 1847 to North Manchester, Wabash Co., Indiana area, where he prob. died before 1850. I'm interested in all early Maurer data, esp. relating to Christian, Peter and Michael Maurer of Pa. or Maryland or adjoining states. I'm very interested in Peter and Christian Maurer of Bethel Twp. in what is now Lebanon Co. in period 1750/60 or so through early 1800s. One or both of them was Moravian, at least for a while. Christian married Ottelia WENDEL/WENDELE in 1792 (one of them was from Cumru Twp, or both), and they had children in Bethel Twp. in 1790s. Did they stay here, or move on? Did Ottelia die and did Christian go on to marry Elisabeth Erni, and move to Augusta or Shamokin Twp, Northumberland Co. Pa? I live in Germany, but am American citizen, and I speak and write German. BORAH or BORA. About 1760, three Borah brothers emigrated from Germany (?) to Lancaster County, PA. Two sided with the Patriots and one with the Tories. Jacob Borah was born in 1765 to one of the Patriot brothers. The Tory returned to "The old country". Jacob and his 8 sons moved to Butler County, KY about 1810. Would appreciate any information on BORAH family. Thank you in advance for the help.

Am researching the WHITMORE?WIDMER/WEITMORE/WITMER line. Benjamin Widmer(Weitmore/Witmer) emigrated from SWZ probably via the NETH and ENG in the early 18th C. The next generation appears to have moved to Frederick County, MD. Benjamin was an agent for the London Land Company and was active in the Conestoga area. He shows up in Lancaster County records in 1716. His family were Mennonites. I have the line established from this era to the present. By the way is there any way to search the quiries other than scrolling through the whole list?
