MARTIN: A group of people have undertaken a major, long-term project to research and document the history and genealogy of David Martin (1691-1784) and the other Swiss Anabaptist Mennonite MARTIN pioneers of northeastern Lancaster County. We are gathering genealogical records of their descendents. Recent evidence about early Swiss MARTIN ancestors going back to the 1400s will be researched further. Check out our web site at http://www.martin.simplenet.com for our initial historical and genealogical findings. We plan eventually to publish. Let us know if you want to participate in this project or receive a newsletter reporting on progress and findings.

Would very much like to have info on any MCDANIEL/MCDONALD families of early (pre-REV WAR)Lancaster, PA. Particularly interested in the family of Francis McDaniel/McDonald who left estate in 1760. Did he have a son, also Francis who was at the Falls of the Ohio in 1783, in Fayette Co Ky in 1790 and who left an estate in Harrison Co KY in the late 1820's? Did he have a brother or other close relative named Andrew? Sons or nephews named John and Mack? Are there any known connections between Lancaster McDaniel/McDonald families and German ZELLERS/SELLERS families, especially a reputed son of Jacob and Ursula (SORGIN) Zellers/Sellers named Johannes Michael aka John Michael aka Michael. Can anyone identify Millard Powers BELL? Millard P. Bell was born in Lancaster Co., Pa., in 1814, supposedly the son of John and Margaret Bell. Some years later, his family removed to eastern New York, where Millard married Margaret ___. They had a daughter, Melissa, born in Portland, Maine, ca. 1837. Millard was a lumberman. By 1840, Millard and Margaret moved to Milton, Trumbull Co., Ohio. By 1850 they were living in Defiance, Defiance Co., Ohio, where they were the parents of: Melissa, Demetrius, Caroline, Metcalf, V.S., and Anna. Around 1859, Millard apparently abandoned this family, leaving for the west. He wound up in Salt Lake City, where he re-married to Harriet Husbands and began a second family. He died in Salt Lake in 1868. Seeking info on Millard, his ancestry, his first wife (Margaret), or children of his family in Ohio.
