DIEBOLD STAUDT was born in Germany; his wife was "LANGRETH."Children: Hans, b. 1535, Bayern, Germany; Johannes Hans , b. 1639 in Germany. The difference in the ages of the two boys leads me to believe one is incorrect or there were children between them. Hans (The Elder) m. Catharina KIESEL. After following several "Hans" and Johannes," we come to Johannes Daniel STAUDT who married Anna Elisabetha (Elzabeth) Keller. They were married in Essweiler, Western Patatina, Germany Nov 17, 1736. They had five children, one of whom was Godfrey Daniel STAUDT, b. about 1750 in Bucks, PA. (Previous info on him shows him in Lancaster Co., PA, before 1750.) The first child of Johannes and Anna was born Sep 25, 1737, in Essweiler, Pfalz, Bayern, Germany. No place of birth is given for second child; Godfrey in PA; and last two in Virginia. I would like to know how and when Johannes and Anna came to the USA, and where they settled in PA and VA. I am a direct descendant to Godfrey (Daniel) and Anna Elizabeth. The name was changed to "STOUT" after they arrived in the U.S.

SCHIMPE/SCHIMPF/SHIMP...my husband's maternal family were Shimps from Washington County, OH. We have no info on them other than we know the following: Mother: Audrey Corrine Shimp Dennis born in Washington Co., OH about 1915; grandfather Charles Edward Shimp born in Washington Co., OH about 1873 married Rosa Bell McBride; great grandfather Benjamin Shimp born about 1843 in PA married first to Sarah Ann Smith in Noble Co., OH; second married to Hannah Elizabeth Felter in Washington Co., OH; great great grandfather was Michael Shimp who married Lou Ann Prettyman in Belmont Co., OH May 17, 1843. We cannot locate the names of Michael Shimp's parents. Lou Ann Prettyman's father was listed on their marriage license as being Richard Prettyman, but we do not know who her mother was. We are told that the Shimps that ended up in Washington, Noble, Monroe and Belmont Counties in OHIO were all from PA either in Cumberland or Lancaster counties with the first Shimps coming to American in the mid 1750's from Germany and I have info on these early immigrants...I just need a clue as to who Michael Shimp's parents were so I can continue to work back and tie our line into the proper Schimpf brother who came to the US from Germany in about 1754 to Philadelphia. Will share any info that I currently have.... any clue however small will be appreciated. I would even be interested in any of the Schimpf brothers and their families from 1754 on down....might as well know the entire bunch while I am at it! Thanks to anyone who can help.
