Baum School
Pine Creek Township

The Baum school was located in Pine Creek township about two miles west of Emerickville, on the northwest corner of what is now the intersection of Rts. 322 and 310 (Fuller Road).   A house now stands where the school was located; the house may have been remodeled from the old school building.

The picture belonged to Bill's late father, Chester Mohney. Because his father was born in 1909, Bill believes the photo was taken sometime after 1915 and that is possible his father and some of his siblings are in the photo.

Bill's uncle, Oran Mohney, taught at the Baum school. He has been told that a daughter of a nearby resident, Bob Stewart, also taught there, but has been unsuccessful in substantiating this.

If you can identify any of the students or know any more of the history of the school, please contact Bill at wmohney@chesapeake.net.
