A man, named J. Smith, was killed on Friday morning, near Fairview, Cumberland county, Pa., by a bull which he had purchased some time ago.  He undertook to cross a field in which the bull was confined, and had got about half way over, when the animal made after him, and before he could get out of the field, had reached him.  The bull struck him with his horns, and flung him into the air, and afterwards pawed him with his fore feet in a dreadful manner.  Several persons witnessed the affair, but could not relieve Smith, who has since died.  He was a single man, aged about 24 years.
