I have named this cemetery "McKee Cemetery" because it is located in Knox Township on land that was once owned by Isaac McKee and most of the persons buried there are McKee family. The cemetery is located on a hillside south of Curwensville. The road to the cemetery is really a track and it is on the north side of State Route 453, about 0.5 of a mile south of the 90-degree turn in the road in Boardman, at the crest of the hill. The cemetery is about one half mile off route 453 and there are no signs or indications on the road or at the cemetery. A map of the area in the 1878 Clearfield County Atlas shows the cemetery, but that map lists it as an unnamed cemetery. The cemetery contains the following markers: Isaac McKee – died Oct 20, 1873 – age 55 yr, 11 mo, 25 da

Ellen, wife of Isaac McKee, Died June 30, 1852, Aged 35 Y & 20D. It is further inscribed "Friends nor physicians could not save, this mortal body from the grave, nor can this grave confine it here, when Christ command it to appear."

Thomas J., son of Isaac and E. McKee – died June 5, 1843 – age 2 mo, 12 da.

Francis M., son of Isaac and E. McKee – died Jan 16, 1849 – age 1 yr, 7 mo, 20 da.

W. H. McKee – Co B, 149th Regt PA Vol –died Nov 19, 1862 – age 22 yrs & 2 mos. (note: this is also a son of Isaac and E. McKee)

Levi B. Ellenberger, Pvt Co B, 78 PA Inf. June 8, 1840 – Jul 19, 1867. (note: this is a son-in-law of Ellen and E. McKee and the husband of Hannah J. McKee)

Mr. and Mrs. Sherosky Sr.

In memory of all infants buried in this cemetery. Dedicated by John Davis May 2000.

There appear to be additional persons buried in this cemetery. However, there are no markers or any indication of who the individuals might be. Over the past two years, 1999 and 2000, the cemetery has been cleaned up and several of the headstones replaced by John L. Davis of Clearfield, PA.
