Looking for parents of John BENNETT, b. abt. 1845 in Cameron Co. Married Susan Annie RIGGLE. Had 4 children, Warden, Forrest, Mabel, Grace May. (This was his 2nd marriage). Living in Pine Creek in Sept. 1871 when he purchased a burial plot in Jersey Shore Cemetery (possibly the time of his 1st wife's death??). Both John and Susan are buried in Jersey Shore Cemetery.

From 1871 (or '72) to 1876 Theophilus Leonard CRAWFORD and his wife Cornelia Bethany GOLDEN lived in Cameron County (They may have married in the county in 1871. In 1872, their daughter Eloise Lella was born in the town of Sterling, and in 1874, their daughter Neva Sarah was born in the town of Cameron.) By October of 1876 they had moved to Steuben Co. NY. NEWTON, Joseph and wife Maude Viola COUSE were in Olean, Cattaraugus Co., New York in the early 1800's. Their children: Edgar D. Newton b Jul 1875 in Canada; William E. Newton b 1877 in Canada; Child Newton b abt 1879 Canada or Olean; Myrtle Newton b Aug 1881 in Canada or Olean; Charles Newton b 13 Apr 1883 in Olean; Josephine Newton b 17 Mar 1887 in Emporium (Cameron) PA. This family removed from Canada to Olean late 1870's, early 1880's where Joseph Newton worked in a general store. Family lore says there was an epidemic and a physician gave the wrong medication to several children, two of them who were Newtons who died from it. Josephine Newton married Elmer DeVere Baxter and lived in Emporium where they died in the 1940's. Any and all help appreciated..

I am searching for HICKS,ROTHROCK,PATCHELL,BELL AND MUNNICH(several variation of that spelling).I know Hicks,Rothrock,Patchels and Bells were all in and around Driftwood area in 1880 and before.I have found Rothrock spelled Rothrick in your Cameron country records..

From the Cameron Co Historical Society,Driftwood Gazette,Dec 17,1896 William Nelson died Tuesday evening December 15,1896 at his residence at Huntley Pa.He was in his 88th year. Mr. Nelson was the oldest living white man in Cameron Co. He was married in 1850 to Elizabeth Chapman who was born Sept. 6,1817 at Dunstown Pa near Lock Haven.She came to Sterling Run in 1826 with her parents. Elizabeth Chapman Nelson died December 31,1905. Both are buried at Huntley Cemetery,Gibson Twp Cameron Co. William Nelson was born August 8,1808 his record of birth being recorded at St. Elias Lutheran Church at Mifflinburg,Pa. William's parents were David & Mary Nelson. 1870 Census of Cameron Co Pa family 487a.
