Assn. of Museums member. This was a British stockade built in 1758 as part of the French and Indian War campaign against the French at Fort Duquesne.

Old Bedford Village

Information: Bedford Village was established in 1976 to interpret the settlement of western Pennsylvania's frontier. More than 40 structures were transported to the village from the regional hill and valley farms and villages where they were first built. Each has been carefully reassembled and restored. Today they are inhabited by interpreters of frontier life and skilled practioners of 18th and 19th century crafts. They are furnished with trappings of pioneer homesteads and home to domesticated animals of the varieties known in Bedford County's frontier days. Crafts demonstrations.Entertainments.
