EDMONDS, KAEUFER, KEEFER, KEEVER, KIFER, KIVER, WAGLE, WAGLEY, WEAGLE, WEAGLY posted by John Donis on Tuesday, February 11, 1997

Mary KIFER was baptised in the Greensburg Lutheran Church 12 Oct. 1815; the daughter of (John)Adam KIFER(KAEUFER) and Susanah WAGLEY. Mary KIFER married David EDMONDS of Monroe Twp. Jefferson County about 1840. They also lived in Beaver Twp. Jefferson County. Adam KIFER died in Monroe Twp. Clarion county in 1856. His father Henry of South Huntington Twp. or Hempfield Twp. Westmorland county puchased land in Redbank Twp., then Armstrong county in 1808. Another Henry and his wife Mary of Hempfield Twp. purchased land in Toby Twp., then Armstrong county in 1828, I believe that this Henry is Adam's brother.Census records seem to indicated that the Kifers came to Westmorland County after 1780. A Henry KIFER in 1783 is listed in the tax records in the PA Archives Series 3 vol XXII with 150 acres in Hempfield Twp. No other Kifers or any variation of that name is found in Westmorland county at this time. Also listed is a Abraham and Issac WEAGLE also in Hempfield Twp. In 1786 Henry KIVER and Issac WAGLEY are mentioned in the tax records for Hempfield Twp. South District. Looking for more information on these and other early KIFER,KEEFER, KEEVER, ect. and WAGLEY, WAGLE, WEAGLY, ect. in Westmorland County.

John PENDEL is listed in the 1800 Census as living in Armstrong County (Buffalo). He was lliving with wife Mary and 4 children. My ancestor had a wife Mary Ann, and the family (minus the father) suddenly appeared in Baltimore 1815ish. Since in the mid 1800's a number of descendents inexplicibly moved to Lycoming (Williamsport) I suspect there may be a relationship. If John Pendel is, in fact the person I may looking for, he would have had sone named John, Richard, Thomas, Zacceacus, Addi and possibly Philip. His grandchildren Lewis PINDELL adn Sarah Jane PINDELL - BARRY - DULAP or DELAP (who took the family bible with her) were the first of many to relocate in Williamsport. Appreciate any information anyone has on these people.
