Peter Miller and wife Mary Ann or perhaps Magdalena, lived New Derry, Westmoreland County probably not much earlier than 1815. He was a blacksmith and had a blacksmith shop in the village of New Derry. They had a large family and according to the census, all were born in Pennsylvania. Peter and Mary Ann or Magdalena were born in Germany or Bavaria but family tradition says Frankfort. They had a large family: George and Peter went to Clarion County by 1830, Catherine m. Hugh Cannon, Elizabeth m. John Cummins, Henry, Margaret m. John Goodman, Jacob, John m. Sarah Armagost, Rosanne m. Jacob Armagost, Mary Ann m. Eli Armagost, William m. Delilah Henderson?.
