BOYD, BUTLER posted by Barbara Martin on Friday, September 8, 2000

I am looking for Lavina BUTLER, of Ulysses, late 1800's, or early 1900's. Birth date probably 1870 or thereabouts. She and husband, Casper Butler,(they were cousins) had at least one child - Mabel Butler BOYD, my grandmother, in 1890. Lavina and Casper divorced and she married Fred Baker, who was reportedly a bootlegger. Also, they operated a restaurant in Coudersport. The story is that he committed suicide, she moved to Avoca, NY and died there. I have been unable to find her in Steuben Co., NY or Potter Co., PA. Help!! I would like to know about any siblings - my great aunts and uncles and cousins.
