DECKER posted by Tim Drake on Tuesday, February 29, 2000

I would like to know more about L R DECKER, who is men- tioned in Vol 2 of the History of McKean,Elk,Cameron, and Potter Counties,Pa. He was contracted in the 1860s to build a jail and boarding house next to the Potter County Court House. Was he related to Samuel and Hirem Decker who were also mentioned in the history? My gggrandfather was LR Decker,1825-1913. He is listed with his wife Mary A. Robin- son, in the 1860 Ceres,McKean Co census. In an 1880 list for Duke Centre,McKean Co,L R Decker is listed as a furni- ture maker. Is the L R of McKean and Potter the same person?
