Enrolled at age 18 on August 27, 1861 at Philadelphia; mustered in as private August 27, 1861 at Philadelphia; Height: 5' 6.5", Hair: light,Complexion: light, Eyes: grey; occupation:Clerk.  Re-enlisted at Bealton, Va., December 26, 1863; discharged by Special Order on March 22, 1864, to accept commission. 

He applied for a pension, July 14, 1890. Application No. 855,640, Certificate No. 608,127. Widow's Application No. 526,818. He died June 7, 1891.
