Enlisted October 13, 1861; promoted to 2d Lt. on May 1, 1864; captured at Peach Tree Creek, Ga. on July 20, 1864; mustered out with company on July 19, 1865.

Applied for a pension July 15, 1890, Application No. 813,607, Certificate No. 590,629; died May 14, 1930 at Tama, Iowa and buried in Oak Hill Cemetery. His widow applied for a pension, Application No. 1,676,026, Certificate No. A 2-7-31.
