The 105th done [sic] nobly, as it ever has, in the battles at Gettysburg. It went into the fight 280 strong, and lost in killed, wounded, and missing 140 men. Col. Craig had two horses killed under him, and a bullet passed between the sole of his boot and his foot. Adjt. Craig also had his horse killed. Nearly ever other line officer of the regiment, in the engagement, were wounded and one--Lieut. Crossley of Reynoldsville--was killed.
