He served first in Company F, 27th Pennsylvania Volunteers and promoted to Corporal, May 1, 1863, and transferred to the 73d September 24, 1864.  He was mustered out with the Company July 14, 1865 at Alexandria, Va.

Earlier he served in Company H of the 11th Pennsylvania Volunteers and Company A of the 19th Pennsylvania Volunteers.

Other Information: Member of GAR Post No.  91 (Abraham Lincoln) in Chicago, IL,  He died January 26, 1905.

He applied for a pension on July 14, 1890.  He died June 7, 1891.
