Department of Court Services

Administration
The Administration division of the Department of Court Services is responsible for coordinating the programs and services provided by the department as well as county record management and departmental financial reporting. This division provides administrative support to the following Court Services Offices:

The Archives Division is responsible for administering the County’s records management program as well as preserving historic and recent day records.  The Archives Division’s main office is located at 684 Washington Street, 1st floor, right hand side.  The Archives Division’s main office houses the following records:-Recorder of Deeds Books from A-1 through H-17 inclusive
-Sheriff Deed Books from 1-7 inclusive
-Recorder of Deeds Miscellaneous Books from 1-14 inclusive
-Oath of Allegiance Book (copy)
-Tax Assessment records from 1792 through 1882 inclusive
-Road Index Books 1753-1937
-Road Docket Books 1760-1944
-Criminal Index Books 1778-1942
-Original papers for Northampton County’s division of townships and incorporations of boroughs
-1874 Atlas

Many other historical and non-historical county public records are available by contacting the Archives Division.  One day’s notice is required for viewing any record not stored in the Archives Division’s main office.   Please contact the Archives Division for more information.
