Swineford Graveyard

Dr McKnight referred to this cemetery as the Swineford Cemetery.  It is also known as the McCann Cemetery.

On November 6th Mrs. Margaret Smith was buried in the old historic Swinford grave-yard. This ground was set apart for a grave-yard about the year 1834 by Sam Ellot, an old bachelor, and deed for same was executed May 9th, 1854, by Samuel Davidson and his wife, to Daniel Wolf, Samuel Wolf and John Strawcutter, trustees of the Evangelical Association of Knox township, for 132 perches, consideration $13.20.  When the ground was first set apart, it then was yet situated in Pinecreek township.
