School Records
Schools that are known to have existed in Henderson Township include:
- Cross Roads, located at the intersection of SR 410 and SR 2008 (Berry Road) - closed 1950
- Desire, located in the village of Desire, closed 1950
- Henderson, located on the Big Run-Prescottville Road - closed 1951
- Henderson Township School (aka Kramer School), located in the village of Stump Creek- closed 1973
- Lower Buchheit, located near Buchheit's Crossing - closed 1954
- Pifer School, located on the Big Run-Prescottville Road near Twin Churches - closed 1947
- Schlimmer, located on SR 410 - closed 1951
- Upper Buchheit, located on Paradise Road - closed 1932
- Wayne, located on Wayne (now Starr Road) - closed 1928
- Zufall, located on the Big Run-Prescottville Road - closed 1945
From Pomeroy's Map of Jefferson County PA, 1866 map there were four schools:
- Bonnett School, located near D. Frantz's on McKee Run
- School #4, located between H. Fillhardt and F. Keeler Property
- Kerr School, located at Big Run (before Big Run was an incorporated borough)
- A school located near A.H. Weaver's (possibly the Schlimmer School)
From Caldwell's Atlas, 1878
- School # 2 (located between J. Mix and Jacob Smith Farms (for-runner of Wayne School)
- Bonnet's School --continued form 1866 map--replaced by the Pifer School
- Stump Creek School - probably the School # 4 from 1866
- Slimmer School - (probably the school located near A.H. Weaver's)
In 1894 there were seven schools in the township (Aug 22 1894 issue of the Punxsutawney Spirit announced the appointment of teachers for these seven schools as follows

- Zufall Teacher, A.J. Anthony
- Fillhart, Teacher, R. W. Norris
