WANK posted by Paula Pompeii on Saturday, May 6, 2000

I'm looking for any information on Godfrey Wank, who had a farm in Pine Creek Township, right outside of Brookville from 1872 to 1901. He sold the farm to Elmer E. Johns and I don't know where he went after that. His son Maurice A. Wank, b .Sept 1882 who lived in Baxter and worked in Summerville, died in 1921 at is buried in Temple Cemetery, Maurice's wife died a few months earlier after an operation in Brookville Hospital, leaving a girl , 12 yrs. old and a boy, 10 yrs.old, orphans. I don't know their names or what happened to them. Maurice may have had another child that had already left home. Some of Godfrey's other children are R.L.Wank b.1878, Clara Wank b.1881, Annie Wank b. 1884, and possibly a Louisa Wank. In the 1900 census , it states that Godfrey had 11 children, and that 10 were still alive. I need to know if Clemence V. Wank 1865-1912, who married Twila "Carrie" Yeomans 1873-1958, d/o Calvin and Maretta Yeomans of Brookville in 1890, is one of Godfrey's children. Clemence and Carrie are my Great grandparents. Any information on this family would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

DAILEY, RICE posted by Paula Pompeii on Saturday, May 6, 2000

I'm looking for any information on William A. Dailey or Almeda Rice Dailey, of Lanes Mills, Jefferson County. William A. Dailey was born in 1853, and was married to Eleanore Eliza Pendleton , d/o Daniel and Elizabeth McMinn Pendleton, on Dec. 10, 1873 in Brockwayville, Pa. He married his second wife, Almeda Rice, b.Aug 1857 , in 1883 and had the following children: Nora Dailey Brownley 2/3/1884-5/8/1934(my greatgrandmother, who lived on Arch St.with husband Charles in Brockway), Orlando Dailey, March 1886-? (moved to TX, had atleast one son), Beverly Dailey(male) Feb. 1889-?(moved to CO. may have had a daughter, Jane), Logan Dailey, b.9/5/1892 d.Sept. 1970(moved to WY), Mertie Dailey Whitmore b.June1896 (moved to CO, husband Jess) Harry Dailey b.9/23/1898 d.March 1976,(moved to CO, wife Thelma). I have a land patent for Florence, CO, for 150 acres in 1916 in Almeda's name which makes me think that William must have died before then. In Nora's obituary in 1934 they have listed a Mrs. Harry Bliley,CO , and Mrs. Etta Armstrong of Bradford, PA, as her sisters , They may be children from the first marriage to Eleanore. Almeda died shortly after Nora, in Florence CO. I don't know when or where William Dailey died, PA or CO ,and I,m having no luck on finding out who his or Almeda's parents are, I think they were all born in PA, from the information in the 1900 census. Any help with this family would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
