Biography
Francis LEECH, b. ca. 1782 in Lancaster Co. PA, d. 3 May 1864 in Jefferson Co. PA, md. Anne ______, b. ca. 1796, d. 4 Apr. 1864 in Jefferson Co. According to McKnight�s History of Jefferson Co., Francis Leech, along with Reuben CLIMPSON, Daniel COFFMAN, John BOWERS, Philip BOWERS, and John VANHORN came from the Shenandoah Valley of VA to Jefferson Co. and settled in Gaskill Twp about 1820. Francis was the son of George LEECH and Elizabeth HASTINGS of Lancaster Co., and grandson of Francis LEECH and Isabella _______ GRIFFITH.

1) Susannah, d. 2 Nov. 1863 in Jefferson Co., md. Abraham MCHENRY.
2) Elizabeth, md. _________ McCRIGHT.
3) George, b. ca. 1821, md. on 28 Dec. 1852, Rebecca KERR, b. abt 1827 in Big Run, Jefferson Co., dau. of David and Hannah KERR, d. 7 Apr. 1900 in Big Run. George served in Co. I, 62nd Pa. Vol. Inf. and d. 18 Aug. 1862 at Carver Hospital in Washington DC from wounds. Children: Ann Maria, Hannah Henrietta, Catherine Jane, and Theodore Lincoln.
4) Thomas Jefferson, b. 13 Sept. 1822, d. 14 Oct. 1883 in Jefferson Co., md. 14 July 1846 Catherine KERR, b. 20 June 1825, dau. of David and Hannah KERR, d. 1 Apr 1907 in Jefferson Co. Children: David Washington, Hannah Jane, George Francis, Susannah Maeretta, Ann Rebecca, Thomas Hardman, Clark McClellan, Mary Alice, Clara Emma, and John Meade.
