John F Kuhnley and wife to David Pifer 

This Indenture made the sixteenth day of January in the year of our Lord one
Thousand eight hundred and sixty nine Between John Frederick Kuhnley and
Catherine his wife of Henderson Township Jefferson County Pennsylvania of the
first part and David Pifer of the same Township County and State of the second
part Wittnesseth that the said parties of the first part for and in
consideration of the sum of One dollar and subject to the hereinafter
mentioned conditions lawful money of the United States of America unto them
well and truly paid by the part of the second part at or before the sealing
and delivery of these presents the receipt thereof is hereby acknowledged have
granted bargained sold aliened _____ released conveyed confirmed and by these
presents do grant bargain sell alein ___ release convey and confirm unto the
said party of the second part his heirs and assigns all that mesuage (?) piece
and parcel of land situate lying and being in the said Township of Henderson
of Jefferson and State of Pennsylvania bounded and described as follows, to
wit beginning at t lyn Thence North eighty nine degrees East two hundred and
two perches to a Hemlock thence South eighty nine degrees West two hundred and
four perches to a Lyn thence North eighty five perches to the place of
beginning, containing one hundred and two acres and of six percent being part
of a lotment No. 4 of Tract No. 3853 conveyed to said part of the first part
by C. C. Gaskill agent and attrny of ____ by deed being dated thirteenth day
of April A.D. one thousand eight hundred and twenty nine Recorded in the
Office for recording deeds & c in and for the County of Jefferson in deed Book
B Pages 223 & 224 reference thereforto being have will more fully and large
appear. The condition of the within Indenture is such that if the said David
Pifer his heirs or assigns shall will and truly manage and farm the within
described missuage (?) piece or parcel of land and shall will and truly
deliver on the said farm one third of all grain raised thereon in the Bushell
and one third of all the Hay and one third of all the fruit to the said John
Frederick Kuhnley and Catherine Kuhnley his wife for and during their joint
lives and after the death of either the said John Frederick Kuhnley and
Catherine his wife then to well and truly deliver upon the said farm to the
survivor of them or either of them the one fourth of all grain raised upon the
said farm and one fourth of the Hay and one fourth of the Fruit for and during
the life of said survivor and shall further well and truly pay or lease to be
paid the sum of Eight hundred dollars to the hereinafter mentioned daughters
of the said John Frederick Kuhnley and Catherine Kuhnley to Wit. Pay to
Elizabeth intermarried with Jacob Weaver the sum of Two hundred dollars in two
years thereafter and pay Mary intermarried with Samuel Smith her heirs or
assigns the sum of Two hundred dollars as follows One hundred in one year
after the death of said J. F. Kuhnley and Catherine Kuhnley and ballance in
two years, also pay to Jane intermarried with Samuel Beam her heirs and
assigns the sum of Two hundred dollars as follows One hundred in one year
after the death of said J. F. Kuhnley & Catherine Kuhnley and One hundred
dollars in two years, also pay to Margaret intermarried with Adam Knar the sum
of Two hundred dollars one hundred in one year after the death of said J. F.
Kuhnley and Catherine Kuhnley and one hundred in two years thereafter then and
from henceforth the Indenture and every part and parcel thereof shall have
full force and affect on failure to perform said conditions to be utterly null
and void In testimony whereof witness our hands and seals the day and date
first mentioned.

Together with all and singular the said base improvements ways water ____
rights liberties privileges ____ and appurtances whatsoever ______ belonging
or in anywise appertaining and the re____ and _____ _____ ____ _____ _____
profits thereof and all the estate right title interest property ____ and
demand whatsoever of the said parties of the first part in law equity or
otherwise ____ of in and to the same and every part thereof to have and to
hold the said described piece and parcel of land subject to the foregoing
conditions de____ _____ _____ and premises hereby granted or mentioned and
intended is to be with the appurtances unto the said party of the second part
his heirs and assigns to and for only proper use and behoof of the said party
of the second part his heirs and assigns forever And John Frederick Kuhnley
and Catherine Kuhnley the said parties of the first part for themselves their
heirs executors and administrators & c by these presents covenant grant and
agree to and with the said party of the past heirs and assigns that they the
said parties of the first part and their heirs all and singular the ____ ____
and premises herein above described and granted or mentioned and intended so
to be with the appurtances unto the said party of the second his heirs and
every other person or persons whomsoever lawfully claiming or to claim the sum
or any part thereof, shall and will warrant and forever defend. In Witness
whereof the said parties of the first part have to these presents set their
hands and seals dated the day and year first above written.

Received the day of the date of the above Indenture of the above named David
Pifer the sum on One dollar lawful money of the United States being the
consideration money above mentioned in full.

On the sixteenth day of January 18 Anon Dominic 11.69 before me a Justice of
the Peace in and for said County came the above named John Frederick Kuhnley
and his wife Catherine Kuhnley and acknowledged the above Indenture to be
their act and deed and desired that the same might be recorded as such ___ the
said Catherine Kuhnley being of full age and by me examined separate and apart
from her said Husband and the contents of the said Indenture being first made
fully known to her declared that she did of her own free will and accord sign
and seal and so her act and deed deliver the same without any coercion or
compulsion of her said husband. Witness my hand and seal the day and year
aforesaid.
