KYLER’S CORNERS is named after the John and Zillah (Packer) Kyler family that came here from Centre Co., PA as some of Fox Township’s first settlers. It was never really a "town", but more of a "place" or "area". If you go too fast through Toby, you will miss the sign on the road that says "Kyler’s Corner". Thus, it is considered part of Toby, but everyone here would know where to direct you if you asked the way to Kyler’s Corners. The Kyler family at one time had a farm in this area. John Kyler had a son, Jesse, who became a Judge of the county, and was very prominent in politics.
