HELFRICH posted by Christine Barnett on Friday, May 1, 1998

Leo George HELFRICH Sr was born in PA (probably Elk County). He married Margaret King (born in MO). They had at least one son named Leo George HELFRICH born on 30 Sep 1881 in PA. My guess is that Leo George HELFRICH Sr was probably born around 1860 (based on the birth date of his son). I am trying to find the actual date of birth for Leo George HELFRICH Sr. Is there a PA Death Index that would perhaps show his date of death? Thank you in advance. Chris

GALLON posted by Sandra Burridge on Friday, May 1, 1998

My grandfather, Bernard GALLON was 40 during the 1870 census, lived in Bennezett township, was born in Ireland, his wife's name was Hannah. Believe they were both Catholic. What were they doing in Elk county? They had a child, Anna Rose, born in Pittsburgh in 1869. How long did they live in Elk county? Were other children born? Were they buried there?

DAVENPORT, MOREHEAD posted by Nancy Tweedie on Friday, May 1, 1998

Am researching James MOREHEAD who appears in the 1860 Spring Creek Twp, Elk Co. 1860 census. This might be my James. I only know for sure that he was in Yates County, New York on the 1875 census, age 33, occupation painter. He married Miranda DAVENPORT there, had one child, Clarence Abbott. Between 1875 and 1880, he left the child with neighbors and returned to PA. Any suggestions appreciated Nancy Tweedie

Looking for information on KENNARD line that settled in St. Marys around 1871. Robert KENNARD was my great great grandfather who married Leah GOODMAN. They were from Loddiswell, Devonshire County, England prior to migration. Have some information already..Robert was a dog trainer by profession and his twin brother married Leah's twin sister. They migrated to New Zealand from Loddiswell! Any information or correspondence welcome!

AUNKST, MALIN, PARKS, POND posted by Lloyd Yost on Friday, May 1, 1998

I am seeking to identify people in early POND (and possibly MALIN) family photos. They probably lumbered in the Ridgway and Johnsonburg vicinities. Time-frame: Civil War to 1900. Later, Lulu Georgia Pond married William Franklin AUNKST. "Rosie" Pond married Norman PARKS. If you might know, I will mail you copies of the photos.
