Looking for any information on Martin OSBORNE or Mary JENKINS, both of the DuBois area. Martin was said to be a Scotsman, Mary was of German descent. They had 11 children, 6 that survived: Clare M., Bernie, Ed, Albert, Elverda, and Bert. Daughter Clare married a Thomas Simons in 1915. Mary is buried in Du Bois. Saw all your info on the Bennett name and was wondering if you might be able to help me. I am looking for a Loise Bennett Ruddock. She is my gggrandmother. She married William Ruddock. They had Bertha Florence Ruddock. She might of had a half brother William Ruddock(found a reference to him, but have no idea. She married Thomas D. Reed Sr.

Back to Loise Bennett. I don't have a clue as to her birth, death, or parents. I haven't been able to find her in Indida County where alot of the other family(and myself) are from. My father told me that Thomas and some others had lived in Clearfield County for a while. So I thought I would try to find them here. I have no info on Louises husband William Ruddock either. Any info you have that might pertain would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I am looking for the family of my Ggrandmother Margaret KRAMER, who married Samuel ASKEY in 1850. After the marriage she and Samuel lived in SnowShoe Township, Centre County, PA, but she may have come from a neighboring county such as Clearfield. She was born in 1826, married in 1850 and died in 1853 at the age of 27. She had 2 sons, only one of whom survived: Thomas Winfield Askey (1851-1922) and William Fleming Askey (1853). Any information as to who her parents and/or siblings might be and whether or not they came from Clearfield County would be appreciated.

Clearfield County: My great great grandfather was William Sheesley and married Elizabeth Nicodumus. My mother lived with Ana May and William Dunbar (she called them Aunt May and Uncle Billy) when she was just a little tot, in Mahaffey. I can't seem to get back any further than William and Elizabeth, I don't even have their birth dates and death dates. Do you have any info on that? My grandmother was Hazel Lucille Sheesley Becton, my mother's maiden name was Dolly Becton. These relatives are all from Clearfield that I know of. My grandmother, Hazel, was the oldest of 8 children--all deceased except for one. Thanks

Seeking any information from List Participants concerning a mine disaster that occurred in Clearfield County circa 1885 which killed my GGF, Joseph Frank (or Frank Joseph) HOOVER. He was from Alsace-Lorraine and arrived in the US circa 1868 and worked various mines throughout central PA, the last one in Clearfield Co. Have heard the name Snowshoe Mine, but cannot confirm. Last know residence was North Houtzdale, PA and is listed in the 1880 census. Married Viktoria Haffley. Four children: Mary, John, Frank A. (My GF), and Joseph. Any and all information would be greatly appreciated as I have been searching unsuccessfully for a number of years, and have visited the Houtzdale area and the Historical Society in Clearfield..

William Reams was born in Clearfield County, Pennsylvania about 1870 and moved to Randolph County, West Virginia where he was married in 1898. He died in Randolph County in 1936. His brother George Reams was married to Elizabeth Ager, daughter of Jim Ager of Pennsylvania. George and Elizabeth lived in Mineral County, West Virginia before coming to Randolph County about 1900. Other family members included a brother Joe, who was injured by a train, and a brother Theodore. It is assumed the last two named remained in Clearfield County. Their mother died somewhere in Pennsylvania about 1918. Any information about this family would be greatly appreciated.
