Baltzer Meyer Historical Society is headquartered
in the old Harrold Zion Lutheran Church at 642 Baltzer Meyer Pike.
The Society acquired the church building in 1997. Work to restore
the 1884 structure began immediately.

This building (The BMHS Center) now houses our offices, the Paul
Miller Ruff Library, publishing and
genealogy departments, and Harrold
Hall. Volunteers man the office and assist visitors in their genealogy
research.
The entrance to the BMHS offices is at the rear of the building.

Harrold Schoolhouse #8 is located across
the road from The Center. It was built in 1883 and acquired by BMHS
in 1995. The renovation of the school house began in 1996. Plans
are to restore it to function as a museum, a place for contemporary
students to peek into the past and visualize how education has changed
over the years.

This is the inside of the newly renovated Harrold Schoolhouse #8.
The recently completed restrooms shown below are located behind
the schoolhouse.
