Armstrong County Pennsylvania
Dayton Union Academy

    Line

This school was established in 1852 by the united efforts of the United Presbyterian and Methodist Episcopal congregation, and was a non-sectarian institution. The first principal was Rev. John A. Campbell, and his successors were Rev. David K. Duff, David Love, A.M., D.W. Lawson and others. For a time the school flourished, but in 1905, because of the state subsidizing of normal schools, it merged with the Dayton Normal Institute.
