Last will and testament of Robert R. Herron (1822-1857)

In the name of God amen, I Robert R. Heron of the Burrough of Worthington County of Armstrong and state of Pennsylvania being weak in body but of sound mind so make and publish this my last will and testament hereby revoking and making now all former wills by me at anytime heretofore made. First I direct all my debts and funeral expences to be paid as soon after my deceae as possible out of the first money that shall come into the hands of my executers. Also I give and bequeath to my dear mother Margaret Herron the sum of four hundred dollars, to my wife Catherine I give and bequeath all the property which she brought to me at her marriage and all tje rents issues and profits of all my property (with the exception of the four hundred dollars bequeathed to my mother) until my infant son Byron shall have attained his majority, or so long as she remains my widow. To my infant son Byron I give an bequeath all my property not above disposed of to fall to him when he is twenty one years of age and in case his mother should cease to be my widow during his minoritythen from the date of her marriage the rents of the property shall fall to him. But in case my infant son Byron should die during his minority then the above bequests shall be made void and all my property shall be equally divided between my mother Margaret Herron and my wife Catherine. I further direct that my personal property shall be put to sale for the purpose of paying my debts and I do further make and ordain James Heron and Joseph C. King executors of this my last will and testament. In witness hereof I Robert R. Herron have to this my will written on one sheet of paper set my hand and seal this eith day of August one thousand eight hundred fifty seven.

The writing contains on the appropriate side of this sheet of paper was signed and sealed by the named Robert R. Herronand by him published and declaired as his last will and testiment in the presence of us who have heard it our names in his presence and in the presence of each other.
