PATTON posted by Debbie Vick on Friday, April 9, 1999

Does anyone have any information on the Mars Cemetery, which looks like it's located in Armstrong County, just outside Kittanning? I'm trying to find my great grandfather William J Patton. His brother Charles A. Patton died at the Episcopal Home in Gibsonia in 1934 and according to his obit was buried there. Their mother was an Anderson and I know from obits of other siblings that they had relatives in that area. I can't find him with any other of the family, so I thought he might be there. If anyone has a list of people buried there or knows where I can obtain this information, please let me know. I'm in Arkansas so it's hard to come look for myself.

BOYD, GREY, KEENER, MARUNA, MONGOMERY, ROBINSON, SNYDER posted by Dorothea L. Hayes on Sunday, April 18, 1999

I am not sure if I am writing to the correct people or not. I sure hope someone can help me. I am just getting started on my search and I was wondering if someone could head me in the right direction. My family tree is a complicated one. My mother and father both were raised by family members, but not by their biological parents. I am primarily seeking information on my fraternal ancestry. Relatives who would know the info I am seeking are either too old to remember or deceased. Some of the ancestry names are Golden Keener, husband of Mary. They raised a girl who was related to them by the name of Hazel Irene . Hazel was first married to Russell Boyd and lived in Slatelick, Armstrong County. Hazel and Russel had a young son who was scalded to death. They divorced not long after, and Hazel married Thomas Henry Robinson. They had two children Dorothy Jean Robinson, born Jan 4, 1934 (married to Roy Hayes, my parents), and Thomas Robinson, born Feb. 5, 1935. Hazel! died while giving birth birth to Thomas. Dorothy was raised by a family member, Hannah Barker Slater. Thomas was raised by his father and his second wife Velma. A few other names that I know are: Carrie Montgomery (Dorothy Jean Robinson's great grandmother), Carrie's daughter, Dorothy and Cash Grey of Coalport, their nephew Bob Snyder of Flinton. I don't even know where to start my search. Any advise or information would be extremely helpful and greatly appreciated.

BOWSER, CAMPBELL, COCHRAN, GOOD, HART, MCGAUGHEY, MECHLING, WADDING, WOLFE, YOCKEY, ZEIGLER posted by Karen Zeigler on Sunday, April 25, 1999

Just received John A. Mechling's SS applic. He lists his parents as Lizzie Dae Campbell and Arthur John Mechling. Previously all I had on his mother was a name, Bess Campbell. Now I think Bess was a knick-name or abreviation. Lizzie may also be an abbreviation (possibly Elizabeth or Isabella, etc.). Lizzie and Arthur John's son lists his name on the application as Arthur John, also and he was born on Dec. 18, 1900 in Ford City, Armstrong Co., PA I mentioned Sugarcreek Twp. in the previous posting. I think the Campbells I am searching for are from this area because my father has spoke of the Campbell farm in that area that he worked at as a boy. I would appreciate any help with these people that I can get. Thanks in advance.
