Although most of my effort is tracing the family roots back into Germany, I have been trying to fill out the family trees of the 6 David John and Christina HELD decendants that could have had families. I have solid information on 3 of the 6 families: George, Jacob and Frederick. I have a little information, but no modern data, on: Regina Held FRANTZ and Louisa Held KUNKLE. The Hiram HELD - Isabella YOUNG family is a total mystery. If you have or can get information on any of these families, I would appreciate it greatly.

BAIN, PAIN, PAINE, PAYNE posted by Kathy Zagorac on Friday, January 23, 1998

PAIN/PAYNE/PAINE I am looking for the parents of Lettishia Ann PAIN. She was born 6/20/1825 and died 1/3/1907 in Lawsonham. She married George W. BAIN (b.7/30/1819, d. 6/19/1906 in Lawsonham)c1845. Her father is John PAIN b. c1780. On Lettishia's death certificate it says her mother's name is Berula PAIN or BAIN. However, family information says her name was Mary. From these same papers it gives the year of death as 1859, in New Bethlehem, for both. George and Lettishia, I believe, lived in the area where the county line was redefined between Armstrong and Clarion County. Thank you for any help you can give.

HARTUNG, TRUBE, TRUBY posted by Hardie C. Hartung on Thursday, January 29, 1998

Conrad Hartung married Anna Elisabeth Truby(Trube) around 1850. The first son, George, was born in 1851. Two sons, Augustus and Christian followed. The three boys were born in PA. Sometime in late 1850s, the went down the Ohio River by barge from Freeport, PA and landed in Pomeroy,Meigs,OH. The fourth son, Lawrence Casper (my grandfather), was born in 1861 in Pomeroy. Conrad Hartung came from Germany in the early 1840s. He served in the Mexican-American War in the marines on the USS Germantown. This would imply they were married after 1848. I do not know anything about Anna Elisabeth Truby(Trube) other than the above. From their tombstones in Junction City, KS, Conrad Hartung was born 6 April 1826. Anna Elisabeth Truby(Trube) was born 18 April 1830.
